Workplace Pension
What is it?
A pension is a great way to prepare for your future and will provide you with a source of income when you retire, so you can continue to enjoy a good lifestyle
Who's Eligible?
All permanent and fixed term employees on our payroll
How does it work?
You make payments into your plan directly from your salary. MaPS will match your contributions by 2 to 1, up to 10% of your salary. You don't pay tax or NI on payments we make, and you also get automatic tax relief on any payments you make yourself.
You can claim additional tax relief, if you're a higher rate taxpayer, through a Self Assessment
You decide how much you contribute and how your money is invested
Season Ticket Loans
What is it?
Interest-free loan to help you buy season tickets for buses and trains
Who's Eligible?
To qualify, you must be a permanent or fixed-term staff member with at least a 12-month contract and have completed your probationary period
How does it work?
You may apply to borrow up to £10,000, with repayments deducted directly from your salary
If accepted, the loan will be paid to your bank account.
You need to scan and forward receipts to HR Services mailbox, once you purchased the ticket
Cycle to work
What is it?
Tax efficient and interest-free loan to purchase a bike and safety equipment - potential savings of up to 40%
The loan cannot be more than your monthly net pay (to a maximum of £2,000) and is repayable over 12 months
Who's eligible?
You must be a permanent staff member and have completed your probationary period
Employees on fixed-term contract over 12 month should discuss eligibility with the HR team
How does it work?
Choose your bike and equipment and submit a quote. Once approved, we will send you a hire agreement and arrange salary sacrifice for the monthly repayments from your salary.
You will receive a voucher, which you can take to your chosen shop and collect your new bike and equipment
Free eye test & flu jabs
What is it?
Annual flu vaccine and eye test, up to the value of £20; and up to £60 towards the cost of glasses or lenses, if these are needed for working on your PC.

How does it work?

If you also wish to claim up to £60 towards glasses/contact lenses, your optician needs to provide a written statement to confirm the glasses/contact lenses are required for DSE use.
Life Assurance
What is it?
A lump sum payment (at four times your salary) paid to your loved ones, in the event of your death whilst in active employment

How does it work?
You are automatically included within our group life assurance policy
Give as you earn
What is it?
The scheme enables employees to donate to charities, through the Charities Aid Foundation, directly from salary
Who's eligible?
All employees on the MaPS payroll
How does it work?
Donations to your nominated charity are deducted from your salary
Because of the special tax status of such schemes, these donations attract tax relief
Employee assistance programme (EAP)
What is it?
A confidential counselling service, designed to help you deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting your home and your work life, your health or your general wellbeing.

How does it work?
MaPS EAP programme is provided by PAM Assist providing expert advice and compassionate guidance to sensitive or emotional issues 24/7, 365 days a year.
The service can be accessed via a portal, a 24 hour helpline or mobile app.
Colleagues can also access PAM Life - a personal health & wellbeing resource with coaching, tools and guides to help you stay healthy
PAM Assist and PAM
What is it?
Talk to our health and wellbeing partners PAM Assist, whatever you are facing. Take the PAM Life wellness assessment and discover your own wellness score. Get weekly advice and explore extensive wellbeing resources for recipe ideas, stress relief and wellness techniques.
Enhanced family and sick pay
What is it?
Maternity, Shared Parental, Surrogacy and Adoption pay: 26 weeks on full pay + 10 KIT days
Paternity pay: two weeks on full pay
Sick pay: 65 days full pay and 65 days half pay in any 12 month rolling period
Who's eligible?
To qualify, you must be on MaPS payroll and meet the eligibility criteria for the statutory entitlement

Volunteering
What is it?
Paid time off for charity work or volunteering, typically around 2 days per year
Who's eligible?
All Money and Pension Service employees
How does it work?
Speak with your manager in advance, giving as much notice as possible
Submit leave request(s) under the special leave policy on our HR system, quoting 'volunteering' in the notes
Recognition Scheme
What is it?
Peer-to-peer recognition scheme for the great work colleagues do in MaPS
Who's eligible?
All Money and Pension Service employees
How does it work?
Colleagues nominate each other a voucher award using an online form. All voucher awards are for £50.
Work with EdenRed to provide vouchers.
Line manager approves nomination for eligible colleagues (i.e. maximum annual limit per colleague).
Nominated colleagues will receive an email with a link to the Edenred platform to claim their voucher
