How we help people

Coordinating a common goal

Our ambition is that everyone sees financial wellbeing as a national mission and a core UK value.

There are many organisations in our nations which can make a real difference. Our flagship UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing aims to bring these together into one shared purpose: achieving the UK’s five national goals for financial wellbeing.

  • 2 million more children and young people getting a meaningful financial education
  • 2 million more working-age ‘struggling’ and ‘squeezed’ people saving regularly
  • 2 million fewer people often using credit for food and bills
  • 2 million more people accessing debt advice, and
  • 5 million more people understanding enough to plan for [and manage their money] in later life.

Working together we can really impact the lives of our customers. And we won’t stand still. We support innovation internally and externally so that everyone’s using the best ways out there to help people feel more in control of their money.

We lead the way with our own services

Our services reflect how much we care about the people we serve. They demonstrate what works best in a way that’s targeted to those most in need and inclusive of people from all backgrounds. Some of our key products and services include:

MoneyHelper

In 2022, our consumer-facing service, MoneyHelper, connected millions of people with the money guidance they needed to find their way forward.

MoneyHelper exists to help people move on with life. It’s here to cut through the jargon and complexity, explain what people need to do and how they can do it. It offers free and impartial help that’s quick to find, easy to use and backed by government.

Whatever the circumstances, MoneyHelper is on people’s side. Online and over the phone, MoneyHelper provides clear money and pension guidance, as well as point people to trusted services, if they need more support.

Pensions Dashboards

As part of our strategy to support people to plan for later life, we are creating a pensions dashboard that will enable individuals to access their pensions information online, securely and all in one place. PDP is responsible for designing and implementing the central digital architecture that will make the pensions dashboards work.

Money Guiders

Our Money Guiders programme is designed to help diverse organisations and practitioners deliver money guidance, ensuring that those that need help to find it, whether through our own services or through others.
