We are seeking an experienced, confident, and motivated Internal Communications Adviser to join our dynamic and fast-paced Internal Communications Team.

We need a creative and proactive individual with strong written, oral, and digital skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities. Your role will be crucial in creating and delivering engaging content that aligns with our Corporate Internal Communication strategy. You will work closely with colleagues from media, social, digital, and strategic teams to ensure coherent and unified messaging. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to coordinate and deliver internal communications, using analysis, insight, and understanding to effectively reach various audiences and support the Money and Pensions Service in achieving its KPIs and Strategic Plan.

As a member of the Government Communications Service, you will receive support for your career development. If you are looking for a new challenge and want to be part of a creative, innovative, supportive, and friendly team, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal Communications development and delivery.
  • Work across the organisation to source, write and edit content and stories that demonstrates the organisation’s vision and purpose, and celebrates and showcases staff achievements.
  • Provide advice to colleagues and support the creation of content, which is accessible and inclusive, creates a sense of community, shared purpose, and supports the articulation of our values.
  • Set up and deliver a project to improve digital communications channels such as the intranet – working with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure it remains up to date.
  • Work with teams across the organisation including People and Culture and IT to further facilitate two-way communications and collaboration in a hybrid working environment.
  • Creating content for internal audiences across different channels, including: our intranet, virtual briefings, in person events, leadership communications cascades and our weekly e-bulletin. Monitor communication activity by collecting and recording impact.

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

  • Significant experience in internal communications or similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to produce high-quality accessible content adapted to suit different internal communications channels including: the intranet, internal newsletter, presentations, blogs, and briefings for internal events.
  • Experience of delivering internal events and supporting communications in a hybrid working environment.
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships with colleagues to deliver high quality internal communications.
  • Understanding of different engagement and communication channels and the pros and cons of each.
  • Good understanding of internal engagement and communication theory and delivery.

At the heart of the Money and Pensions Service are our values – caring, connecting and transforming, which are the foundation of our success. They permeate every area of our work and define all our business relationships and the way we work with each other. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
