“The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) have an opportunity for a Strategic Creditor Alliances Manager to join their Debt Advice Policy and Strategy team. You will lead on creating and maintaining strategic alliances with the debt collection industry. You will be allocated a portfolio of creditor sectors which may include financial services, utilities, housing and the public sector.”

 

Key objectives include embedding MaPS’ policy positions on supportive debt collection practices and creating new creditor referral partnerships for the Money Adviser Network.

 

Some of the key accountabilities of the Strategic Creditor Alliances Manager;

  • To support the embedding of MaPS initiatives with the UK debt collection industry both in the public and private sectors.
  • Provide policy and technical guidance on creditor matters to the MaPS UK Partnership Team
  • Ensure we gain maximum creditor reputational benefit from our initiatives in debt advice.
  • Understand creditor partner objectives, key debt strategies and leaders so that we are in a credible position to collaborate on specific initiatives.
  • To elevate and strengthen senior working relations with creditors, their regulators and industry bodies.
  • To build senior level networks between MaPS and senior figures in the debt collection industry.
  • To be the face of MaPS for senior creditor policy stakeholders for matters relating to debt management and represent the organisation at creditor advisory groups and / or boards relating to debt collection.
  • Working with internal colleagues and resources to execute market engagement strategies and initiatives to generate quality leads to embed MaPS partnership offerings for creditors.
  • Providing MaPS’ leadership team with progress and results of marketing initiatives and strategies.
  • Maintaining a technical knowledge of MaPS’ initiatives from a creditors perspective to inform project requirements for future phases or refinements.
  • Leading on training and guidance for creditor collections agents.

     

    It is essential for the Strategic Creditor Alliances Manager to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Have a strong network in at least one creditor sector and debt advice sector
  • Some expertise in creditor debt collection, litigation and arrears processes.
  • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Awareness of third sector, public sector or local government is desirable.
  • Outstanding written communication, including the ability to produced structure reports and briefings to strict deadlines.
  • Experience of building and maintaining industry networks including at sector events

 

The Money and Pensions Service is establishing a new head office in Bedford, where we will be a key employer in the town. Whilst it will be some time before our new offices are fully open, we are keen and excited to be recruiting for a variety of roles as we build our new team(s) over the coming months.

At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work.  Most of our roles can operate on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, noncontractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
